Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has raised the possibility of suing coach Luciano Spalletti.
Napoli won the Italian Serie A title last season for the first time in 33 years. It was the first time since club legend Diego Maradona was crowned Serie A champion when he played for Napoli. It was a season where Spalletti’s aggressive tactics shone through, not to mention the fact that Napoli had players like Victor Osimhen, Hvitsa Kvarachelia, Stanislav Lobotka, and Kim Min-jae who excelled in their respective positions. 먹튀검증
Napoli’s goal was to continue that momentum this season, but plans went awry when Spalletti was relieved of his duties at the end of last season and the mainstay of the defense, Kim Min-jae, left the team for Bayern Munich. After a brief hiatus, Spalletti was named the head coach of the Italian national team. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) officially announced on September 19 that Spalletti will begin work as the new head coach of the Italian national team on September 1.
Here’s the catch. It was pointed out that Spalletti had taken the reins of the Italian national team without paying a penalty to Napoli, and reports emerged that an angry Napoli president De Laurentiis was planning to sue Spalletti. The relationship between the two, who won their first Serie A title in 33 years together last season, has deteriorated rapidly.
“De Laurentiis could sue Spalletti because he became the Italy national team coach without paying a penalty to Napoli,” the Italian outlet Area Napoli reported, citing a report by Sky Sports Italy. Spalletti said he signed a contract with the FIGC without paying the 3 million euros ($4.4 billion) worth of penalties demanded by De Laurentiis. Napoli can sue Spalletti, and Spalletti and the FIGC are ready to confront De Laurentiis legally.”
De Laurentiis and Spalletti, who celebrated the title together just a few months ago, are now red-faced. The FIGC and Spalletti have yet to comment.
